When it comes to senior portrait sessions, I never know exactly who I'm working with until they show up on my doorstep on the day of our shoot and we have a chance to chat in person. I email and try to get to know my photo subjects, but in my experience, you just can't get a real understanding of someone until you're together and they either laugh or don't laugh at your weird jokes.
Tessa was humble and relaxed and sweet and I thought I might have to coach her through posing at first-- but as soon as we started shooting it became dang obvious that she was not afraid to go for it.
